01 — THE PROBLEM
Long-running work should remain understandable.
An inconsistent file can be difficult to analyse; a stage may fail and output needs review. The challenge is to guide the user through the process, with clear progress and recovery from errors.
02 — MY DESIGN DECISIONS
Make the processing pipeline legible.
Break down the processing
Document analysis happens in stages. Background jobs make progress visible and identify which stage needs attention when a failure occurs.
Structure the output
The result becomes organised data that people can read and the product can use. The source document and the generated result must remain distinct.
Keep human review
Generated output is not an established fact. The interface must make it possible to check information before using it.
